Cambelt & Timing Belt Replacement in Salford
The cambelt (timing belt) is one of the most important — and most ignored — parts of your engine. If it snaps, it usually destroys the engine, turning a routine service job into a four-figure rebuild. SS ADAM LTD replaces cambelts and timing belts for all makes at our Salford workshop, on schedule and at a fair fixed price.
We replace the belt, tensioner and idler pulleys together as a kit, and strongly recommend doing the water pump at the same time (it's driven by the same belt, so the labour is already done). That's the difference between a job done properly and one you pay for twice.

Cambelt / Timing Belt — frequently asked questions
When should my cambelt be replaced?
It depends on the make — typically every 4–5 years or 60,000–100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Bring your logbook or call 07359 070 779 with your reg and we'll tell you your car's exact interval.
What happens if my cambelt snaps?
On most modern engines the pistons and valves collide, causing major internal damage — often a bent-valve, wrecked-engine scenario costing far more than the belt would have. That's why replacing it on schedule is so important.
Should I replace the water pump with the cambelt?
Almost always yes. The water pump is usually driven by the cambelt, so the labour to reach it is already being done. Replacing it at the same time avoids paying that labour twice if the pump fails later.
How do I know if I have a belt or a chain?
Some engines use a timing chain (longer-lasting) rather than a belt. We'll confirm which your engine has — call 07359 070 779 with your registration.
